US Military Targeted a 'Large Plant' in Venezuela, Trump Asserted Lacking Providing Specifics.

Ex-President Trump has claimed that American forces hit a "large facility" in Venezuela last week. But, the ex-leader offered no details on the exact nature or site of the target, and there has been no additional comment from his team.

Unspecific Comments Offered In a Talk Show

"US forces just eliminated – I'm not sure if you saw – they have a big plant, where the ships come from. The other night, we knocked that out. So we hit them with significant force," Trump reportedly informed GOP supporter and supermarket owner John Catsimatidis in a recent interview.

Potential Significance of a Verified Strike

Should a US military action is verified, it would represent the first attack on Venezuelan soil since the US Department of Defense began a buildup of American strike forces in the region to halt drug traffickers that the Trump administration alleges operate under the direction of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.

The initial mission of the force deployment has transformed into a blockade aimed at hindering the nation's crude oil shipments.

Online Footage and Official Statements

Trump has for weeks warned that US forces are poised to expand the operations by striking objectives within Venezuela, a tactic that would in theory require congressional authorization.

A clip shared on social media on 24 December seemed to depict an explosion allegedly from an industrial zone in Zulia state. However, the footage or the facility has not been corroborated.

An source allegedly informed a news network that the president was describing a drug facility in his remarks.

Response and Ongoing Strategic Posture

The Caracas administration has not commented on the incident Trump described. Additionally, there have been no verified accounts from within the country regarding it.

The deployment of American forces in the area – a posture certain officials have termed a sea blockade – represents the most expansive naval operation of the Trump era.

Officials have refrained from labeling the action as a blockade, but have confirmed that about 15,000 troops are deployed across the Caribbean and the Gulf, including a carrier strike group, advanced fighter jets, and law enforcement vessels to uphold current economic sanctions.
